Vision Bank: Fraud/Scams Awareness Notice


Fraud and scams are a global threat, by being vigiliant together we can prevent criminals targeting your Vision Bank account.

Whats the difference between a Fraud and a Scam?

A Fraud is when someone steals your bank account or personal details, and uses them to authorise a payment from your Vision Bank account without you knowing. A Scam is when you are tricked into making a payment for false reasons by responding to a fake email, text or call. Scammers will impersonate people or organisations that you trust, urge you to make a payment from your Vision Bank account and then steal your money.

Fraud/Scams to watch out for…..

Be viligent as criminals will be targeting Vision Bank customers. Common forms of fraud/scams include:
A. Impersonation Scams/Invoice Redirection
B. Identity Impersonation Fraud
C. Phone, SMS and Email Fraud
D. Purchase Scams/Advanced Payment Requests
E. Unsolicited Investment Opportunities
F. Employee Fraud

Always Remember: Vision Bank will never send you phone messages, emails or hyperlinks asking you for confidential information in relation to your Vision Bank account or requiring you to confirm your Vision Bank account details.


Vision Bank’s security measures to protect you from fraud

Vision Bank is committed to fighting fraud and have in place a number of security measures in place to protect your accounts, including:
  • Account Access:All account access will require authentication of users by way of OTPs generated through the customer’s authenticator application.
  • Real-time notifications:Stay informed about what’s coming in and out of your account.
  • Confirmation of Payee:This helps us confirm that the name on the account you are paying is who you think it is.

Security tips to protect you from fraud/scams

  • Be cautious of unsolicited emails, phone calls, or messages and do not click on links, complete forms, or download attachments from untrusted sources.
  • Never share your Vision Bank account details or account information.
  • Install anti-virus software and keep it up-to-date to protect you against viruses such as malware, trojans, spyware and adware.
  • Check if a website or business is real before making a transaction. Look for security features, like a lock icon or ‘https’ in the URL, and read reviews to avoid scams.
  • Be sceptical of special discounts, offers or investments.
  • Regularly monitor transactions and activity on your Vision Bank account.
  • Stay up to date on new forms of frauds and scams.

Vision Bank will not be held responsible for losses you incur resulting from fraud where you have divulged confidential bank account passwords and account information to third parties.
